The Legacy Institute for Financial Education (LIFE) exists to empower low- to moderate-income families by providing financial literacy, mentorship, and counseling as we seek to promote economic stability and the creation of generational wealth.
Project Abstract
Computer LIFE will provide an avenue for at risk students to have access to computers after school. We would also like to provide computers to households who still do not have one. In North Lufkin, we have a large population of our students who are being raised by their grandparents who are not computer literate and therefore see no need for a computer. We have a partnership with another organization who will provide computer training for the elderly at no cost if they could utilize a lab our organization would provide.
Target Population
1. At-risk Students (6th – 12th Grades)
2. Low- to Moderate-Income Parents of target group #1
3. North Lufkin residents
