Digital Skills - Computers - Internet - Assistive Technology - Professional Development

This resource library is a practical, user-friendly guide designed for people who help community members get online and use technology effectively.

It brings together a curated set of tools and guidance to support:

  • learning digital skills
  • finding computers and internet service
  • accessing assistive and accessibility resources
  • building skills and confidence as a Digital Navigator

Resources are organized to make it easier to find practical help based on real-world needs.

What Is a Digital Navigator?

The term Digital Navigator refers to a flexible role that adapts to community needs and provides hands-on support to help people connect to and use technology.

The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) defines Digital Navigators as:

“Trusted guides who assist community members with ongoing, individualized support for accessing affordable and appropriate connectivity, devices, and digital skills.”

Digital Navigators serve in many roles, including:

  • library staff
  • social workers
  • nonprofit and community organization staff
  • healthcare providers
  • faith-based leaders
  • educators

Formal training is not required to serve as a Digital Navigator. However, the quality and effectiveness of support depend on access to reliable, up-to-date resources – this library is intended to help meet that need.
