Digitunity Announces New Officers and Welcomes New Board Members

Effective January 2026, Digitunity is delighted to introduce new Officers to its Board of Directors. These leadership transitions reflect the Board’s unwavering dedication to building and strengthening the infrastructure needed to ensure computer ownership is possible for all.

Thank You to Outgoing President Jeremy Hegle

Digitunity extends deep gratitude to Jeremy Hegle of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City for his outstanding leadership as its President over 2024 and 2025. Under his guidance, the organization has experienced both growth and strategic clarity, amplifying Digitunity’s role in the digital opportunity field and as a trusted partner. We are pleased that Jeremy will continue to serve as Immediate Past President and remain deeply involved in the organization’s ongoing initiatives.

Board Leadership Highlights

Allison Strobel, now serving as Digitunity Board President, brings extensive experience in public-sector leadership, interagency collaboration, and digital opportunity initiatives. As Executive Director of the Hoboken Public Education Foundation, she has led strategic partnerships supporting students and families. Previously, Allison managed the early implementation of a $100 million broadband infrastructure grant program for affordable housing across New York State and held senior leadership roles at the Jersey City Housing Authority. 

Steven Nickel, Vice President, is a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in global repair and refurbishment operations. At Google, Steven has led teams developing repairability strategies for consumer hardware, supporting Right to Repair initiatives, and responsible technology reuse. His experience strengthens the Board’s insight into supply chains, repair ecosystems, and operational excellence.

Matthew Zimmer, Treasurer, is CEO of Close the Loop, a global circular economy company that delivers advanced recycling, IT asset recovery, and next-generation solutions that keep materials in use and reduce waste sent to landfill. Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer, Matthew brings senior leadership experience from publicly traded Fortune 500 companies and private equity-backed organizations. A global supply chain expert, he has led organizational turnarounds and guided sustainable growth across the companies he has served.

Welcoming New Board Members

Digitunity is also pleased to announce that three new members of its Board of Directors have been elected to serve their first two-year terms.

Daniel H. Cho is a global technology executive, entrepreneur, and investor with leadership experience across Asia, Europe, and the United States. His career includes senior roles at Intel, POSCO, ArrayComm, and Immersion, as well as founding and leading multiple technology ventures. Daniel holds a B.A. in Economics from Carleton College and pursued graduate studies in South Korea, Denmark, and the Netherlands. His expertise in cross-border growth and innovation adds a valuable perspective to the Board.

Kendra Schultz is a venture capital investor at Benchstrength, where she invests in pre-seed and seed-stage software companies. Prior to Benchstrength, Kendra worked on Google’s Responsible Innovation team, focusing on algorithmic bias and fairness. Across her career, she has focused on bridging access gaps, supporting underrepresented founders, and expanding pathways into the field of responsible AI. Kendra is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Business School..

Johnson Tran brings a wide-ranging background across telecommunications, finance, cybersecurity, IT, and artificial intelligence. A first-generation Vietnamese American, Johnson’s career spans leadership roles with companies including T-Mobile, JPMorgan Chase, Verizon MVNO Next-G Mobile, and several high-growth technology firms. He has helped build indirect distribution strategies, supported software company acquisitions, and remains deeply committed to mentorship and community service. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Houston and is committed to Digitunity’s mission to ensure that people in every community can own a computer. 

We look forward to the year ahead and are grateful for the leadership, experience, and dedication of our Board as the organization continues its work to make computer ownership possible through strong, collaborative systems.
